Why not mention that Social Security and Medicare make up the vast majority of the budget? If we did a 10% across-the-board cut, guess who would be complaining the most? Not conservatives, that's for sure. No, and they've forgotten that Bush made a legitimate effort to reform SS that would have relieved the country, over time, of the unfunded liability for SS. And the liberals shot it down for no reason other than party politics. Bush made mistakes but he also made an effort to do something about the 2nd biggest financial problem facing this country. And Ds wouldn't hear of it.
