<<Perhaps the NDS-NT directory released earlier last month will help keep NetWare subscribers from moving over to NT systems and help slow the NT momentum.>>

No way Eric, the NDS NT is going to do didly squat. Why support two operatinmg systems when one is all you need. NT 5.0 is going to make
headlines and I am sure users will wait to evaluate the new release before even considering MOAB.
The integrateion of the workstation with the server is the rationale
behind going NT. Novell had better concentrate on marketing and work on getting as many of its NW 3.x users over to NetWare before it is too late.

NOVL+JAVA is a mistake. People still look at NOVL as the file and print server company. Accounting apps. from PeoplseSoft and SAP.
Database apps. from Oracle and Sybase. Workstation O/S from Microsoft.
Virus software from Mcafee, Solomon, (Intel ?) etc...

What killer app. is NOVL possibly thinking of coming out with ?

Desperation and the support for SUNW JAVA is what is driving NOVL towards rewriting their O/S. One would think that the biggies like IBM and MSFt would have started porting their O/S to JAVA if they really thought it was going to be a hit.
NOVL has not done its marketing. Like that application to control household appliances went down the tube, so will NetWare if it is written in JAVA. There is no way, an O/S can run more efficiently than in C++.

NOVL had better leave its bright ideas upto the company that acquires it. It cannot survive alone. It is making to many mistakes.
