By not handling it well, i meant in the info they're putting out on the issue, they're doing all fluff no meat ... and i don't think they have the excuse that this is new, it's not But they do seem to have local support, many of the ultra-greenie pieces admit so, and they wouldn't if wasn't fairly strong support imho ... hundreds of well-paid jobs are on the line, and there will be a multiplier effect out to extended families of those workers ... only from the shrillest far-out pieces was there the suggestion that the company was being the classic rich arrogant foreigner despoiling la Patria, i don't think it applies ... the nut of the issue is the hill, which is part and parcel of founding myth, some would rather keep it standing than see it mined, and it's hard to say to them, oh fear not, the hill is still around here, merely flattened out, somewhat dispersed, and oh look won't this be a beautiful hole Like many companies, they could report better to their shareholders, but i haven't seen where they're mining poorly ... as for groundwater impact, we won't really know for sure for a few decades, unless something shows up downhill meantime, this risk can always be thrown at miners amz.v - hot pot rock way down south, if i had cash to buy back ngd i'd put it into amz right now anyway
