Zeuspaul :

>>>At the moment, the U.S. doesn't face the same risk. The difference between mild price declines and runaway deflation is largely determined by the state of an economy's financial system. <<<

The great depression while not brought on by the banking industry was entrenched after the bank failures of the 30's and the lack of liquidity in the economy ..What is your thinking on a future scenario ?
My feeling is that the one place not to look in the future is the same place it hit you the last time..but then again Indonesia is already closing banks....can this be the forerunner of a global banking crisis..what happens if the IMF pours billions first into Indonesia then many other countries then several years down the road noone is able to meet obligations.. while Mexico paid back 50 billion we might now be so fortunate the next time...........just thinking gregor
