My issue with the Fed being gone is that whatever is put in place in its stead will borne of a congressional demon seed.

That old adage -- be careful of what you wish for, because you might get it -- comes to mind.

The Fed under Easy Al and Bennybubbleboy has lost all credibility. Wall Street owns them and every investor in the world knows it. You make a very valid argument in pointing out tighter political
control of central banks more often means more inflation . Ron Paul would better serve the country going after those currently in charge instead of the system. When these guys figured out they could watch themselves be praised all day long on CNBC monetary policy sure became much looser.
