Interesting speculation from Paul Mylchreest, who wrote the 2006 Cheuvreux report. The bit about the Yamashita gold is way over the top but the analysis of the paper market seems well-reasoned. Emphasis on 'seems' because his speculation, if true, has major implications. Worth considering as he is experienced and knowledgeable.

The 2006 Cheuvreux report went into detail concerning the finagling of CBs with the gold market, and called for 900 gold in 2009. I am having trouble finding it but it is discussed here:
