Yes, agreed. This is where the Dems tend to be more practical, because they recognize there is an important role for gov't to play, whereas, the GOP feels that there is never a need to have gov't play a role.

The answer is no longer black and white........The answer is clear. You can't choose to leave it entirely to the free market and at the same time you can't leave it up to government to do it all.

The example being discussed was for a flat panel TV; So you are suggesting the man who wants to have the flat panel TV but can't afford it should have help from the government? I think it is indeed a lot closer to black and white than you think - either a person can afford the TV or they can't. There is no help for this from government. In fact the government is placing more obligations on you and is taking away from you the opportunity to buy that big screen in the future. Why? Because you as an American have a huge debt payment coming due that the government has placed on you and your family. Your taxes are going up because of interest payments on the national debt. Think of it this way; all things being equal 3 years from now when you might have an extra$2,000 dollars and you might want to buy flat screen. Except you can't because that $2,000 is going to pay taxes instead.
