o, less dependency. Let the prices rise, and you get more domestic supply, and more price based control of demand.

And so you get a temporary end to long lines but the energy dependency on foreign oil continues. Thanks to Reagan's policies and the presidents that followed, we are in no better place in terms of energy dependency than we were in 1980. Capitalism has failed us but you are blind to its flaws.
