There is a sliver of a case to be made:

1. Pakistan and their nuclear arsenal would be put into jeopardy if we pulled out willy nilly.

2. In the heat of the campaign Obama made the case for getting the job done where the war should have been fought. He should at least have when he first took office to ensure that he replaced all the Rumsfeld/Cheney/Bush hand picked senior officer corp with RW sympathies.

Obama is caught in a bind. He can't win on this one. Unlike what happened what he did to pitch Chicago for the Olympics. I still don't understand that. Is Obama in that classic Presidential bubble where all the sycophants around him are keeping him from reality? I thought he was smarter than that.
