Thanks to burgeoning productivity. One wonders, as fewer and fewer people are needed to fulfill out needs and wants, what are all the rest supposed to do with their time?

Regardless of the statistics much of what was previously manufactured in the US is now manufactured in foreign lands. I grew up in Pittsburgh. There is little manufacturing now in that former industrial town. Go in any store and you see little made in USA. Whole industries have been destroyed - clothing, etc -

We are better off as a nation to be manufacturing the goods even at the cost of higher prices.
