Addi,
Look, if you had a tremendous amount of stock options, and you
can only unlock a certain percentage periodically, and you made
a pile of money, you'd do the same thing. A smart business man
wants to diversify: maybe he wants some safe yield instruments for
safe money. I call this a good "hedging" stratgey. If these insiders
unlocked only 5% of their total holdings, and they've got another
year to unlock more, why not take advantage?
There are many great co.'s that insiders sold stock, and way too
soon. Hasn't Gates sold any Microsoft?
Mark

Addi:
Probably a corporate lawyer can give exact info. But what little I know for sure is that laws about the selling of securities by corporate execuitves are very stringent. They get to sell only during very small windows every so many times in an year. IF these sells are above $100K, then they have to fill a separate form declaring the intention to sell. Also these small windows are designed to be two weeks after earnings announcements, etc.
In effect, many of these guys don't have much choices and freedom in selling. To counter this, many of tech executives sell regularly every quarter. examples are bill gates, chamber of csco, morgan of amat and the list goes on.
Please understand that this is not as much in the defense of the MO and CURLY. But rather just to let you know that insider selling should be used carefully. I like to use insider buying more effectively.

Not intented to raise some concerns but does anyone care to comment on the recent insider sellings (including Mory Ejabat's, and the CFO of the compnay, among other high executives) that took place in the $33-$36 range! Do they really have that many kids to send to private colleges?!!!! Addi, It is like Ascend is in talks to be acquired. Mory cannot sell for about 90 days thereafter. He has to sell now if he wants additional spending money. Glenn
