Actually, what's more important is that the Zionists had an agreement with the universally acknowledge Arab ruling authority, the Hashimites via Sharif Faisal. The terms of that agreement were fulfilled for the Arabs, with all Arab states being granted independence from British and French rule, and Weizmann believed that legitimized the Zionist's position. The Hashimites CONTINUE to be the primary governmental authority representing the Arabs living in Palestine. The Jordanian population far exceeds the population of Arabs in the West Bank. And it was the Hashimites who annexed the West Bank (Palestinian Partition) in 1948, and then abdicated their claim in 1989. Hawk
