I agree that evil people can and have used all sorts of excuses to justify their evil deeds. The real question is; are those actions consistent with the claimed justification? In the case of neo Darwinism, the answer is absolutely. The strong will always overpower the weak and there is nothing immoral or unethical about it, it's just the way the universe is.

On the other hand most of the atrocities that were and are committed under the cover of Christianity are starkly in opposition to the teachings of Jesus. The same cannot be said for Islam as Mohamed used violence and deception in the name of his god: so do his followers.

In the case of the recent shooter at Fort Hood who shouted "Allah Akbar!" in the act of killing and the school shooters who made direct claims to their Darwinian motivations; these people were acting in a manner that is perfectly consistent with their stated beliefs.

<Facts are facts. >

Sure, and the only "fact" is that these events happened... the "causation" percentages or whatever could be argued about forever. Personally if you're looking for dogma to blame, throw in Mendel... without the genetics behind it there would be no "eugenics".

<Personally I find it hard to believe the eugenics movement would have existed without Darwins thoughts ->

"Personally" is a good way to put it... as millions of others have heard this argument and find it nothing more than amusing.
Further, if you're REALLY looking for 'facts', the only REAL fact is that certain people perpetrate things and are therefore responsible.

Of course if you're the type of person looking to blame the way things are on others or ideas, one can spend ones entire lifetime doing so I'm sure... just like the Jesus bashers.

Second "of course": the correctness of Darwin's theories will stand on their ultimate truth as shown over time. Running around looking for "dirt" on him isn't going to affect that.

Once LaMarck is proven right you'll have someone ELSE to chase after! :))
