It boggles the mind that any scientist would be so sure of his adjustments that he would throw away the raw data. This is not science. Doubly so when you consider that the amount of adjustment needed to compensate for Urban Heat effects (150 years ago the thermometer was in a village; now it's in a city; presto, higher temps) has always been contentious. The CRU decided to win the argument by force.

I don't believe it for a minute. Academic data collectors never throw away original sourced data spanning 150 years. They scan it, archive it and put the books and binders in some basement file cabinets.
