It doesn't seem like a domestic violence situation, it sounds more like he's trying to cover up an extramarital affair, if anything... but still, until there's credible evidence on anything, I think it's irresponsible to gossip, after all is this really newsworthy when there's so many legitimate problems in the world? Just think about it for a moment, what if it turns out that he's only embarrassed because of this auto incident and nothing more? How does it make everyone look when they spent all their time with frivolous and cheap gossip? GZ
