John;

add up to one large "failure," the best first year of any president since FDR.

And never since even before FDR has America faced so many real problems all at once. With problems comes opportunity and since America has seemed to find leadership in time of crises, I had hoped Obama would shine as that leader.

So how has he done? We are still fighting in two wars so there is no conclusion there. One of the two wars looks to be escalating in a big way - so we are no closer to peace than when he took office. The real unemployment rate is somewhere north of 17% so that is a success? Health care seems to be so washed out that I wonder what the end result will look like - surely not what most people hoped. Greenhouse warming seems to be going backward and even Obama pushed back anything meaningful. So, social, economic or environmentally the grades are not good.

My wish? He should have addressed the economy and the wars up front. We should now be on our way out of Afghanistan and that saved money should be used on a war against unemployment. All the money being drained in Afghanistan could put huge number of people to work on infrastructure. I still support Obama and "hope", but the glossy picture made by Weisburg is almost silly in the claim.
