not according to this, oral...i've seen pictures of the car, and it surely was sufficient impact to initiate an On-Star response...if not a total black eye for On-Star technology

he was driving a 2009 escalade, and i would assume it has the latest in On-Star capabilities:

<snip>

OnStar’s dedication to innovation for Emergency Services has continued to evolve since it first introduced Air Bag Notification in 1996. For example, today’s Automatic Crash Response uses built-in vehicle sensors to connect an Advisor into a vehicle after a crash, regardless of air bag deployment. The sensors also provide real-time data about the type and severity of the crash to OnStar, and the Advisor can relay the data including the number, direction and severity of impacts as well as air bag deployment status to emergency responders so they can be better prepared to help when they arrive at the scene.

If the 'bags' didn't deploy on impact with a bloody fire hydrant - Tiger will have a helluva case against GM..!!! Concurrently, since he advertises for Buick, OBlockhead's Car Czar may need to be called in to mediate between the lawyers for all parties, the PGA, and Goodyear - since Snoopy may have been involved but not yet reported by the FAA yet. Perhaps the Black Box will yield pilot conversations on the matter..!!!

By God, we're going to get to the bottom of all this if it takes the last dollar bill the wacko runaway Treasury ever prints..!!! Perhaps Kofi 'the crook' Annan should be called in as a consultant to cover the UN's perspective on this unparalleled world changing event - there has to be an opportunity for a bribe in there somewhere..!!!

:-)

Only if the airbags deploy does onstar get called.

It sounds like the airbag was deployed with a sand wedge. <g>
