You might try going to lanes with heavier oil. <g>

Maybe if I bought a ball made in the last quarter century I would have a hook. With a tip ball I should have a vicious one.

Un cup your wrist to put fewer revs on the ball.
Have the ball redrilled to delay the hook.
Get a different reactive ball with less hook.

Glad I could help as a former 198 average with big hook:-)
