I looked it up. First cousin marriage is legal in about 20 states; in others it is illegal, restricted to marriages that won't produce offspring, or restricted to half-cousins.

Jewish law permits cousin marriage. My maternal grandparents were cousins. Large swaths of the Muslim world prefer cousin marriage to any other. I believe the majority of Arab marriages are cousin marriages if you count first and second cousins.
