Me: "certainly the scientific community as a whole don't seem to think so...

You: Climategate shows us that we can't trust the "scientific community".

True; and an innocent mistake which does not change the substance of my assertion. The context shows that I backed up what I said with an article identifying the scientific community with what they termed the "scientific establishment". I simply should have used the word referencing instead of "quoting". Your fictitious misquote changed the object of mistrust from the "scientific community" to science itself. I have told you several times, that is not the case and yet you keep repeating that point as if it's true. At some point that's ceases to be a mistake; and becomes dishonesty.

You accuse me of, "debating details vs essence" but you have not addressed the issue that I raised of dishonest scientists pushing personal and political agendas, manipulating data, (then destroying the original copies to hide their crime) and driving out dissenters by abusing the peer review process and trying to destroy their careers. Most if not all of these tactics have also been employed by evolutionary scientists. Scientists are not above questioning and when they are caught abusing the privileged advisory position they have in society they also rightly lose societies trust.
