That is your opinion. A far more plausible opinion is that entrenched money and power centered around oil, coal, and the GOP doesn't like the movement away from their power base. They are resisting and are doing a great job of spreading F.U.D. in order to destroy momentum towards renewable energy. Of course, these bad apple scientists really give alot more ammunition to this effort and that's unfortunate. It will cost the US a massive new growth industry that would have brought us much needed jobs and new, incremental wealth. I guess the beast is hungry, so it is eating its own foot, despite a steak dinner waiting for it at the table. Silly and self-destructive, but that is what this country has become.
