greg, reread what I said...
I said that campus environments were pioneered by others..
but, cpq put a new twist on it...
Houston is their only US mfg'ing site of any significance..
that's what it said if you reread it.
they have one acct'ing staff, one planning staff..etc. etc.
i talked about what they did.
Ford and their products have many many mfg'ing sites.
This is one of the reasons why the high profit per employee...
they have almost the bulk of USA mfg'ing in Houston.
Whcih is more important to prodcutivity.
the elimination of a bunch of non value add empolyees or the campus????
They wouldn't even be in Scotland if eec dictated it.
I also never said that cpq was perfect in that area again with them buying everybody under the sun.
But, I remember the debates of build the whole shooting match in Housten or spread our alie the std. mfg'ing footprint
