About 45 days ago, Merrell Lynch recommended a strong buy- target $80 on COMS. Since recommnedation, down 20%. Can the analysts be that bad? Mark, It has always been my opinion that most analysts have far less knowledge than we. However, Joe Bellace is usually pretty good. I do recall the Merrill report and will look to see if Joe has changed his opinion. Glenn

mark, all of these tech stocks can easily get halved and/or double within a year. Or both. Coms has some extra weakness here from criticism of the bookkeeping and how it may have been used to hide a severe product-flow problem in USRX.

Current earnings are only slightly above the levels of 1996, when COMS price range had been 30-50 for two years. Then the rosy forecasts in September, and blockbuster earnings in December, sent the stock through the roof and FY98 had a $3 estimate or better. Needless to say, the performance didn't follow through.
