Let's not forget that Clemmons appeared to be mentally ill and paranoid from reports I've read from Washington State. Not that being mentally ill and paranoid is an excuse for the horrific thing he did, but that there was a further societal breakdown (one that continues) of not dealing with the mentally ill to ensure their safety and the safety of the community. It sounds like Mike Huckabee is trying to pass the buck on his pardon of Clemmons (great way to take personal responsibility Mike), calling it a failure of Arkansas and Washington State. No it was a failure of Arkansas. The guy should still be behind bars or in a high security mental institution in Arkansas.
