That was my point. She chose to bring extra materials because she was no doubt a good teacher. My MIL and SIL did the same thing....Both brought lots of support and decorative materials to the classroom. Even sometimes basic supplies. But still, I think it is the School District's job to provide basic teaching aids, like text books, chalk, etc. As students from k-12, we had always to bring our own paper, pencils/pens, coloring materials, etc.
