Michael,

I don't see any big difference between Lehman's prediction and ALSC's view. As Lehman said, ALSC's management is making a strong case about how they are doing on the non-DRAM product lines. That's exactly the same info as I got. Lehman's comment shows that ALSC probably IS doing very well on those fronts, or else they wouldn't have stated so strongly and confidently to both Lehman and myself. Lehman's comments are based on the weak DRAM market, while ALSC's comments are based on non-DRAM product sales, so you can see they are based on different market facts to make their own opinion.

My feeling is that ALSC has poised to get away from the davesdating control of the DRAM price, and becomes a very diversified company. Their 4 product lines plus the possible new LCD line will make them very flexible in dealing with the specific product's weakness. This is very encouraging in the long run. Plus that USC's golden contribution, I'm thinking that we probably will have a upside surprice in Dec. qtr! After all, ALSC only lost -2c in Q3 if not counting the $6mil charge. This qtr they may well be reversing the sign before that 2c, I hope!

I just love analysts' low estimate figures. The lower the better 'cuz we have better chance to beat it, therefore the better chance our stock price will go higher!

Good luck to us all!

Michael and all,

I think ALSC stock has bottomed, and NOW is the time to buy . the JV IPO is comming in early 1998 (two month from now) and with a good december quarter with rising SRAM prices we should see ALSC stock start to rise. Also I read that the crisis in ASIA is good for the importers like ALSC and UMC. This week's BARRON"S on page 66, the hotest TECH investor, RAJ RAJARATNAM, RAJ said: " He agrees that the worries seem overdone. also "The big Taiwanies chip makers, UMC & TSMC, sell their wafers in dollars, and they buy their equimpment in dollars" he says, " other operating costs are in Taiwanese dollars" which means overhead will be reduced.
