The thing is that deadline is so fake - it's going to take six months to even get the troops there and then he has less than twelve to accomplish anything and we all know how bad Obama is at keeping any deadline he sets so I expect we'll be there as long as it takes.

I think you're probably right here; even the guy from DailyKOS last night said it was a totally political move.

Whether the enemy perceives it as such, I'm not sure.

The "deadline" is based on his re-election campaign. When it comes around he'll say we're withdrawing now and that can take till the election and then the heat will be off him.
