Excuse me?? When did we institute a draft?

Because the Armed services were pretty much the same size PRIOR to 9/11 as they are now. The Army has been increase by about 10%, but I believe most of that was due to downsizing the other major services (AF and Navy) and opening up slots.

THUS, your argument is false and there would be no expectation of greater unemployment if we brought all the troops home the US. They would still be in uniform, but just training in the US.

Besides.. Clinton did a pretty good job of chopping DOD by 40% back in the 90's.
