I am not a big fan of Obama's military strategies. However, because there is a lot of emotion behind the topic, I think it helps to distract from the undermining of the core american foundation. The two things that I consider a direct assault on the U.S. are Obamacare and Cap & Trade.

I actually think that Bush's strategy was pretty good. I think he understood the challenges of fighting in Afghanistan so he devised a strategy of forming a beachhead in Iraq and let Al Qaeda come to our armed forces. Meanwhile, provide enough support in Afghanistan so that Al Qaeda can't expand there.

As far as Afghanistan now....you know me, I see things as black or white. And either would do there. Either pull out 100% or commit 100% with overwhelming forces so that we can get in and do the job quickly and decisively.

Considering our attitude toward our armed forces nowadays, I think we should probably just bring them home and call it a day. My god, if we are going to punish our SEALS for punching a terrorist, imagine what we will do if our soldiers accidentally shoots an al qaeda member.
