rogerover -- excellent point and I think (don't quote me) that JBII did exactly that. Filed a pending application without any intention of actually revealing the entire formula/catalyst/process. I thought I read in a filing or press release or filing about the patent pending for JBII's plastic2oil but the CEO mentioning later in shareholder communication wishing not to have their trade secrets stolen. Again, don't quote me, but if I get bored enough later I'll dig it up.

One problem with processes and formulas is that it's so hard to protect your patents because those are much easier to change just a little bit and win in court after years of expensive litigation by the victim who loses anyway. It's very hard to prove that somebody "stole" your exact formula unlike a tech gadget.
