jaytee: I have done a fair amount of research on trading systems and software. Omega Tradestation seems to be the Rolls Royce of the bunch.

ck out this site for software comparisons:

traders.com

As far as books are concerned Trading For A Living seems to stand alone. Beyond that I have read 100's of good books, magazines, articles which have added equally to programming my own daytrading system - my brain!

Many people on SI talk about trading from intution, but I believe that you must program your brain with specific information that will let you make successful trade decisions automatically. For most it's garbage in - garbage out!.

A successful trader has a specific mindset which enables him to make the right decisions at the right time. This is often referred to as your sixth sense or creative imagination. This is that special something common to all truly successful individuals. For a greater understanding of this topic read Think & Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.(I guess this would by my second book recommendation wouldn't it;)

Long live online trading!
