It's pretty difficult to make rapid progress when 40% of Congress was elected under the proposition that government doesn't work, and then dedicate their careers to proving it.

The Republicans are the party that says government doesn't work and then get elected and prove it.

Just because he told us that during the campaign doesn't make this war any less idiotic. Is the military holding a gun to his head, I dunno. I do know it's gonna cost us dearly & accomplish exactly what Bin Laden wanted...and for that matter, what the Rs want also, to empty the government's purse for social services.
18 months? Yeah, and the tooth fairy keeps a calendar.
