Good that you are making a vacation of it also.

I need to get to DC. Lived in Norfolk and drove through it many times on the way home and never stopped. So many things to see there.

What an experience for all of you, in so many ways! If you have time, be sure to see the Capitol and the Library of Congress...Both are so totally beautiful outside, but even more inside! Plus my favorite is the American History Museum, and visit the Book Store downstairs...it takes the entire lower floor of the building! If you belong to the National Geographic, you can have lunch there...and of course, you know about Old Ebbitts Grill...

Have fun!

I'd like to see the WWII memorial.

Be safe.

Hope you pay to take the Arlington tour. The information we got when we did it was book loads, but you get to sit back and have it all narrated by the driver. I think that job would be high on my list if I lived in the DC area.

I loved all of the memorials in the vicinity of the Mall. Each one is unique and interesting. The VN memorial being the most somber and spiritual imo.

Hope the weather is cooperating today.
