It is not unusual for the generation of skeptics to arise in times of crisis. They will be the ones who lead us out of this mess. It happened that way in Soviet Union (I was part of it). It was impossible for the old generation to get accustomed and adapt to the new way of life. In fact, most never did, they gradually passed on, and the society as a whole got transformed that way. It's the generation of skeptics, the 20-somethings and 30-somethings, who led the revolutionary transition in the society.
