Oh my dear zip liner we feel completely the same.

Thank you for that post as I have felt as thought I were spinning my wheels posting about the futility of it all.

I fail to ever see where our presence is going to wipe out a group of people who are multiplying like rabbits..
Terrorists beget more terrorists when they see what we have done to their country.... people, children and homes...
As one friend of mine said last summer and she has since passed, we should nuke them all and put an end to all this. If there were no more than we would have solved a problem.

The RW Hawks are delirious that we are upping the ante.

However, that time line for withdrawal really irks a lot of people. I think he did it to placate those of us who thought that with his intelligence... he might just put an end to our middle east occupation.

At some point during the coverage the last couple of days, a statistic flashed on the screen that between Iraq and Afghanistan we have over 37000 dead and wounded soldiers.

My ex father-in-law was just diagnosed with terminal cancer.

A good man, he returned from Viet Nam shattered and proceeded to crawl into the bottle for decades.

He finally sobered up a few years ago and was doing well until the after-effects of Agent Orange caught up to him.

A life wasted, and for what?

If it makes you feel any better I think the KIA's are under 4k.
which really isn't too bad for 9 years of fighting--in relative terms or course.
