ahhhh Marcie, finally another clear thinker enters our thread and speaks from the heart and mind.

Many of these people just don't get it... Oh, they are having fun now as Intel corrects, but they will surely be gone pouting away in misery in another year. They seem to think Intel lives or dies based on the next two quarters??

Sub 1K machines mean one thing to me. More and more future upgrade costumers for Intel. Sub 1K machines and there popularity, will only further the penetration rate of computers in homes and business's around the world, thus ensuring a VERY bright future for Intel.

They just don't get it...Penetration rates are only 40% in the homes of America. Wait until the rate reaches 70%! As surely as I sit here tonight it will happen within the next decade. That's nearly a doubling of the market for the greatest microproccesor company in the world! Who will compete with them?? Does AMD have the talent or management? does former Cyrix have the resources? Or will Motoralo finally discard it's RISC based chip business and take on Intel?? And what about Digital?? then there's little scrappy Integrated Device?

The funny thing is, as Intel corrects and the bears rise to the forefront of this thread. Intel's future never looked brighter. With unheard of Fab capacity, cash a plenty, and an amazing chip strategy for the next year, what reasonable thinking person would bet their hard earned money against this company??

I guess that just about says it all huh? :-)

They just don't get it...

Michael

Marcie, I agree with you.

I caused some confusion because I failed to place quotation marks around Paul F's sentences at the top of the post.

I was responding to his advice to sell and take the profit.

I do not feel intel is overvalued. If anything, I think it is undervalued and the investing public (and analysts perhaps) do not realize the potential of what is happening and what the future holds. Missing the estimate by 3 cents (probably on purpose) and slower growth for a quarter (to stimy the competition) are not long term negatives. As Jules said, "how will people know when to get back in" if they sell now?

I thought the market was about looking ahead. I see $4.50 to $5.00 per share earnings in the near future according to estimates.

so just roughly, 20 x 5 = $100

or 25 x 5 = $125

Something like that seems like a more fair price to me based on next years earnings.

Our trip to the 70's may be short lived. If you will lend me some money, I will buy more!

Lee

you said "enough of me"... no way, you showed more vision than most Presidents. I would like to hear your long term views.

Marcie - Re: " all prices are bargins. The DOW is going to 25000 in our life time.....The computer age is now and we are just starting a brave new world....and INTC will be on of the pioneers of the future. We are living in a great time. Internet ......information.....location.....Visions.."

I'm with you 100%. BTW, when is your forecast for 25000? Mine is before 2010.
