Obama knows many things I don’t - I’m not sure I’d sleep much if I knew what he knew. Most people don’t think much about them, but the Western Provinces are more like Afghanistan than they are like China. Ethically, culturally, etc. they are just way different people from the Han people. These are the Steppes of Genghis Khan. China may be requiring us to keep the heat on in Afghanistan in order for them to keep lending us money. That would make a lot of sense and explain a lot of things. I wouldn't like it if were true, but at least I could understand it. It's not like such a thing is ever going to be uttered on the talking head circuit until way after the fact.
