You posted something a few days ago that listed some rather important accomplishments, all ones that I would think please a 'progressive'. And the level at which our govt (agencies, that is) are starting to function well again... it is very encouraging. I'm not sure there are many who would have the skill to formulate and begin carrying out all these things after the low-level things had fallen too. I'm quite overall happy.

Clinton never took his eyes off the slogan that got him there: "It is the economy stupid." He let Hillary deal with issues like health care while he and Al Gore remained focussed on nothing but jobs and jobs.

We are expecting the Nov unemployment numbers to come out in about 4 hours and it is expected to tick up. The opposition now has a reason to seize the numbers and point the nation to what this Administration said during the passage of the stimulus which is that in no way the employment is going to go beyond 10% if the stimulus is passed.

Obama should have been wise enough to stamp out his advisors who are advising him to look at war replenishment, carbon credits, health care etc. etc. It is jobs, jobs and jobs.

From some of his speeches today, he has admitted that he was wrong in the past to focus on increase in size of government instead of letting the private sector play the role of job creation. By doing so he has provided political fodder to the opposition.
