It's you that is being silly when you claim that everything including thoughts are ultimately material in nature. ("Thought is a function of matter"). It's also silly to jump from that position to the idea that we are free to act in ways that directly contradict the material cause and effect principal. How much does the idea of a perfect circle, the sum of 2+2 or love weigh?
