Dear Mark: I looked at my Datek account on line today and it still says I have $12,000 buying ability. So I assume I am not in any danger yet! I agree that holding on is the best policy. (I dont mind the interest, Datek only charges 7%.) Compaq is going to split so if they can split and go back up to 90 I can sell some of that stock (also a fine company) if I want to get out of margin.
Of course when the market starts back up again I wont mind being in margin.
Such confusion. Oh well As of this month I've only been doing this for a year. I havent done too badly and I have actually gotten over my beginning very panicky & scared emotions. Now I only get a little agitated not really panicky! <GGGGG>
