<<<OFF TOPIC>>>

Ibexx,

You don't know me but I have been reading your posts for awhile - I only bought mutual funds before this summer when I bought my first stocks- INTC, CSCO, and CPQ were among my first selections so I've seen your name quite a bit as I've lurked on those threads- enough to know you hear this often but I would like to echo my appreciation for your informative and enlightening (not to mention polite)posts. I am interested in your opinion on SAPHY,and QWEST- I have been eyeing each, but I fear they are a little ahead of themselves price-wise (I have also been looking at RMBS, CYMI,and AMAT in view of their recent pull backs). As an young Army officer with 5 kids, I know I am a small fish in this pond - hoping to learn to swim with the big boys(and girls)...my "portfolio" would make you laugh but one has to start somewhere I guess. I would appreciate any thoughts that you can share. Thanks, Jeff

Ibexx,

Sorry for taking so long to respond.

Concerning database vendors for SAP, I looked up the SAP web site to
see all their technology parters. The complete list is:

Adobe, Apple, EMC, Haht, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, IDS Prof. Scheer,
Informix, Intel, iXOS, Microsoft, Oracle, Software AG, and Sun.

I guess that Sybase never was in the picture. In my opinion, the main
database choice for companies purchasing SAP software would be Oracle,
Informix, and IBM's DB2.
