The United States' GDP is about $14 trillion. That's more than Japan's ($4.9 trillion), China's ($4.4 trillion) and Germany's ($3.7 trillion) -- the next three largest economies on the planet -- combined.

Yet, our very survival depends on being able to borrow money from them to pay for our own consumption. Not INVESTMENT, mind you, but for consumption which will leave our children broke going forward.

There is more to life than GDP. If our workers were paid what Chinese workers make I suspect our GDP wouldn't seem quite so impressive.
