Of course it didn't. Even Krugman today points out that the GDP "growth" is largely a result of government spending and as such may well result in a downturn when government quits spending.

Just as happened with FDR's "Roosevelt Recession", and which dragged the Great Depression out into a protracted affair.

Government spending has never ended a serious economic downturn yet.

You'd have a point if it was a jobs bill. But it wasn't.

Obama lied about that too?
