Countless numbers of intra-country wars, which are usually about who gets to rule a country, but may just be wars of extermination or conversion. Arguably the early jihad attacks spreading Islam may be an example of this happening across international boundaries, depending on what stage of development you consider the Islamic forces to be one or mote countries rather than a non-national force. Then there is the current war against Al Qaeda. And while examples abound, they are really not necessary, I can define starship, but I can't give you real world examples. A definition is not limited to the real world examples of it.
