"I think mass transit is pretty much for pussies." Asswipe, you're a bad and regressive American. Here in SLC, I take our light rail to party and to events at our convention center. It's safer than driving to go to a bar, and when I drive to the convention center, the parking is a nightmare, but the rail drops me right there.

Both have much better mass transit in their cities and both have developed extensive hi speed rail systems. We are at least 25 years behind them in this regards. We're not behind. We just make different choices. Yes, thanks to Reagan et al. Stupid choices that are kicking the US in the ass now. Mass transit may be perfect for you and you should use it. But I wouldn't live anywhere where mass transit is a better option than driving my own car or motorcycle. Its a pity evolution moves so slowly. The reason we don't have much mass transit is because people f*cking don't want it. We like our cars, our privacy, our personal freedom, and we're not willing to give it up to save a few dollars worth of gas. I took AMTRAK to NOLA last week; trains here are not like they are in the NE or where you live. They are absolute luxury. And dirt cheap. But that simply doesn't offset the inconvenience of having to deal with train stations, people, cabs, waiting, etc. Those who want it ought to go for it. I think mass transit is pretty much for pussies. Listen.......do me a favor and spend more time on your moonshine business. Your value as a poster on this thread is a negative number.
