If we took $1.3 trillion and invested it in US industry, or hell, if we took that money and simply gave tax breaks to small businesses, it would have done a tremendous amount of good for our country. One hell of a lot more good than anything we're getting out of the Middle East. For $1.3 trillion, we could have been 100% oil independent. What a fool's bargain we have paid in Iraq and Afghanistan.
