Akidron, as I asked someone before.....if everyone keeps upgrading....and the price of DRAM keeps falling and still no one makes a profit...so where does this end...how many upgrades at losses before they figure out that this ain't gonna work.

If they upgrade now...they will invest in .25u 200mm technology...next it will be .18u 200mm and then 300mm.....and based on the DRAM GLUT situation they will probably be losing money very soon after the upgrade...so how do they keep paying for these upgrades?? Remember these upgrades are not free they cost alot of money and time. These guys have to save money for the major 300mm upgrade that is coming around 2001.

It's just like some investor on this thread...if you invested all your money and have no cash....you are pretty much dead in the water when the good deals come. Fabs cannot afford to upgrade every year, unless they have positive cash flow.
