If the present baby boom generation was paying adequately for medicare and SS we would not have this problem would we? Am I supposed to then turn around and blame the WWII generation for not paying their fair share of their retirement and Medicare while I paid for their care? As far as I know, the cost of SS and Medicare has not yet come out of the general tax base - so it's being paid out of FICA. The upcoming baby boomer retirement has been known for many years. I imagine you'd like them all to opt for euthanasia so that it won't impact your pocketbook. Right? I supposer we could turn them all in Soylent Green and eat them. Hey! Each to his own.
