I'm certainly in favor of people being in touch with their emotions and expressing them- but in my posts I was really thinking of the people with serotonin imbalances- not that, I guess, such imbalances could not be caused by profound grief or sadness. I don't know that they cannot. But from what I've seen of families, it seems that one child may just be "different" from birth- and that seems to me to suggest there is a huge genetic and biological component to mental illness.

Or in the case of veterans who have witnessed war the drugs and alcohol are to forget...Or at least try to.

I have a relative who is interested in his wife's daughter. His step daughter.
He and the wife have no relationship anymore and now with a 20 year age difference I think he should be in therapy.

The wife is setting it up too in manipulation as she has a heart disease and I think she would like her daughter to win the heart of her wealthy husband and therefore her two out of wedlock grandchildren would be cared for. So she suggests her husband take out her daughter and of course they go to a bar and drink.........

The daughter was and addict who just spent two years in prison. However she is beautiful and I can see how all this is happening BUT..

What would you say to that. .. The drinking offers permission to do things that common sense might prevent.
