Obama's stimulus at $288B in tax cuts.

As compared to "letting" Bush's tax cuts expire?

Wanna bet those tax cuts expiring will more than pay for these $288B in "cuts" to buy more votes?

The Obama administration is the most transparent, you can see through every scam he comes out with...

>> Obama's stimulus at $288B in tax cuts. In addition, it had $43B in renewable energy investments and loan guarantees and $111B in science and tech investment. That's $443B that I believe was worthwhile and not a waste.

I like tax cuts. I don't like tax cuts that cost 3 or 4 or 5 times the amount of the cuts delivered. I don't want to see 100s of billions wasted on other items just to get a few billion in tax cuts.

You are liberal who supports confiscation of money from hard working people to give it to other people. That's fine for you, but I don't believe such theft is morally or economically a good thing.

$288B in tax cuts but...

1 - A greater amount of extra spending.

2 - Mostly "targeted temporary cuts", rather than cuts in rates with no expiration.

3 - Parts of them are not tax cuts at all, but handouts through the tax system. If your tax rate is cut to zero, then further "tax cuts" aren't really tax cuts. (I think between taxes that fall at least partially under point three, and those that fall under 2, you have all of the claimed tax cuts).

4 - Before and after other tax increases.

5 - "Of note is that there is no planned congressional revision of U.S. tax tables to run concurrent with the payroll tax credit, meaning that, regardless of the initial amount of employer withholding, the majority of taxpayers will still owe the same amount in total taxes to the IRS upon filing at the end of the year." (from your source en.wikipedia.org ) - That basically eliminates $116 billion of the claimed $237 billion tax cuts for individuals.

Considering all five points and its not much in the way of tax cuts, certainly not compared to all the extra spending.
